29 Jan Update - Damage After Storm Eowyn As a result of the storm, we sustained damage to the roofs of over 80 properties, most of them tenements. In addition to this there are a great deal of fences and some trees that were blown down. We are concentrating our efforts in the first instance to repairing the roofs but will get to the fences and clear fallen trees from land we maintain as soon as we can. We would like to thank you in advance for your patience and reassure you that our repairs service is operating as normal.
23 Jan BIN COLLECTION SUSPENDED ON FRIDAY 24 JANUARY 2025 WDC have suspended all bin collections due tomorrow, Friday 24 January 2025 due to a Red Weather Warning. WDC have requested residents do not present their bins tomorrow for collection. If your address is on our Close Cleaning Contract and our Contractor normally puts your bin out for collection and has already done so, please can you pull your bin in, if you are able to do so – as our Contractor may not be able to do so tomorrow due to the Red Weather Warning.
23 Jan RED WEATHER WARNING – FRIDAY 24 JANUARY 2025 Due to the Red Weather Warning on Friday 24 January 2025, Knowes HA have decided to cancel office appointments and home visits arranged for tomorrow for safety reasons. We are unsure if the office will open tomorrow however staff will be working from home. Please contact us by telephone or email info@knowes.org, however we will only be dealing with emergency repairs tomorrow. Please ensure that your bins and outdoor furniture and toys are secured or safely stored. Thank you and stay safe.

15 Jan West Dunbartonshire Justice Services & Partners - Services Information and Awareness Raising Sessions West Dunbartonshire Justice Services & Partners are holding Services Information and Awareness Raising Sessions. Input from Community Justice, Caledonian Systems, DACA (Dumbarton Area Council on Alcohol), Alternatives, Recovery Community, Sfad (Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol & Drugs) “Routes Project” and The Lennox Partnership – Employability Services. 24 Dec Update from West Dunbartonshire Council - Christmas Bin Collection Schedule WDC have advised that due to workforce resource challenges the previously advertised Christmas bin collection schedule has been changed. Residents whose normal collections fall on public holidays over the Christmas period (Wednesday or Thursday) are now asked to present their bins as per the updated schedule. 23 Dec Office Closure for Festive Break Our office will close for the festive break on 24th December 2024 at 4pm. The office will reopen, with normal operating hours of 8:30am - 5pm, on 3rd January 2025. For emergency repairs only, contact West Dunbartonshire Council Building Services on 0800 197 1004. For gas central heating, contact City Building on 0800 595 595. For non-emergency repairs, contact our office when we reopen in January or email info@knowes.org. 11 Dec Knowes Housing Association's Tenant Rent Consultation 2025/26 If you are a tenant of Knowes HA, please take the time to participate in our rent consultation exercise and answer the survey questions at the end of the form. If you would prefer a paper copy by post or to make a telephone return please contact Amy or Yvonne on 01389 877752, option 5. All completed entries will be entered into a prize draw for a £50 voucher.
04 Dec Rent Consultation Session at Knowes HA's Office - Tuesday 10th December 3pm - 6pm Rent consultation session for tenants to give their views is Tuesday 10th December 3pm to 6pm. Please feel free to drop in to our office at any point during this time. Refreshments will be available and staff will be on hand to answer questions re rents and budgets.

27 Nov Office reception undergoing refurbishment this week The office reception area is undergoing a refurbishment this week - the purpose of which is to improve the layout of the reception area for visitors to the office. There will be some disruption whilst this is going on. We would ask you not to visit the office unless you have a pre-arranged appointment with a member of staff. The office will be open as usual to receive phone calls and emails. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
12 Nov Whitehill Play Area We are carrying out some necessary upgrades to the surface area and play equipment in the Whitehill Play Area. Please note that whilst the work is going on the play area will be out of use. We would therefore kindly request that you do not allow your children to access the area until the work has been completed and we apologise for any inconvenience caused to you and your family during this period. Thank you for your patience whilst we carry out the necessary upgrades.

21 Nov Preparing for Winter Drop in Event Douglas McAllister MP for West Dunbartonshire is hosting an event tomorrow to help the constituents of West Dunbartonshire prepare for the winter months ahead. Local and national organisations such as Scottish Power and Home Energy Scotland will be on hand to offer advice and information on the support available to the community this winter
